Since 2012, the number of electric vehicles on the road has skyrocketed. However, many countries are still developing infrastructure for these vehicles. Above all, they have to think about where to place charging stations for electric cars. Transport authorities must take action now to prepare for the increasing number of electric vehicles. The traffic authorities must ensure that all areas always have places for charging electric vehicles.
Planning charging stations for electric vehicles can make the world more environmentally friendly and less dependent on fossil fuels. Many governments have implemented policies to encourage the use of these vehicles. For example, Norway gives tax breaks to people who switch from fossil cars to electric cars. They also offer tax credits for people who buy and fuel their electric cars with renewable energy sources such as wind power.
This encourages people to use electric vehicles by giving them a financial incentive to do so.
So the government together with traffic authorities should plan for an increase in electric vehicles by creating charging stations, creating incentives to want to buy an electric car instead of a fossil-powered car which is still significantly cheaper to buy. Doing so will speed up the adoption process for these vehicles while promoting the environment.
There are also negative aspects to consider. Here the manufacturers need to act and become better. For example, EV batteries are large and heavy and cause electric cars to wear more rubber than lighter cars with a petrol engine. Both tire manufacturers and battery manufacturers need to review their manufacturing processes and end products.
Then we have the charging box manufacturers. Who needs to collaborate with the software manufacturers to develop an ev charging platform that works all over the world and that can easily be adapted to different regulations in different countries. It must be incredibly easy to charge one’s electric car and the ability to pay must be as easy to make the market for electric car charging as accessible as fueling fossil vehicles. Then the entire electric car fleet will be able to be converted.
